Live by the power of 5G
ITN Productions created the world’s first live 5G TV advert on the 5th October for O2 Telefonica. Broadcast live on ITV during the England v Argentina World Cup match, the ad previewed some of O2’s 5G capabilities ahead of the official launch later that same month.
Footage of the matchday atmosphere was captured at special screenings across the UK at O2 venues and sent back to ITN HQ in London via O2’s next generation 5G network. From there, it was broadcast as a live advert on ITV, showcasing the real time support of fans up and down the country.
